Webinar: How Higher Education Can Foster Constructive Immigration Dialogue: From Common Ground to Campus Engagement – Jul 22
Posted by Campus Compact on July 14, 2026
At a time of deep polarization around immigration, colleges and universities are exceptionally positioned to model civil discourse, serve as civic conveners, and create trusted spaces for constructive dialogue.
Join us on Wednesday, July 22, at 2:00 p.m. ET for a webinar exploring how higher education institutions can participate in Braver Angels’ Citizens Commission on Immigration and foster dialogue across political and ideological differences.
Co-hosted by Cornell’s Center on Democracy, the Presidents’ Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration, and Campus Compact, this webinar will introduce the Citizens Commission on Immigration and its Common Ground Workshop model, highlight lessons from workshops and community forums held across the country, and discuss how campuses can host Braver Angels events that equip students and communities to listen, deliberate, and disagree constructively while connecting local dialogue to broader civic and policy conversations.
