Analyses Of The CTC And EITC Proposals Before The 119th Congress

The Child Tax Credit (CTC) and the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) provide vital cash assistance to working families with children. The EITC also provides a small benefit to workers who are not raising children. Many members of Congress are interested in reforming the CTC and the EITC to better invest in workers and families. To help them understand how various proposals would affect families, the low-income tax team of the Tax Policy Center of the Urban Institute and Brookings Institution analyzed various bills that have been introduced during the 119th Congress.
