Celebrate National Volunteer Week (April 19-25) with PANO
Posted by PA Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO) on April 21, 2026
April is National Volunteer Month, and April 19-25 is Volunteer Recognition Week. Whether your organization runs on volunteer power or benefits from other community support, this is a great moment to say thank you for what volunteers make possible.
The Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO) is participating in the National Nonprofits Get It Done campaign.
Here are a few ways your nonprofit can participate this week – even if you’re not one of those four organizations!
- Post a volunteer shoutout. Share a photo or story of a volunteer who makes a difference at your organization.
- Share a number. How many volunteers supported your work last year? How many hours did they contribute? Post those numbers. People respond to concrete impact.
- Thank your volunteers publicly. A simple social post, a mention in your newsletter, or even a handwritten note goes a long way. Volunteer Recognition Week is the hook, but your gratitude makes it meaningful.
- Repost PANO’s content next week. On April 20, we’ll post spotlights of Pennsylvania nonprofits on our socials. Sharing those posts with your audience shows solidarity and extends the campaign’s reach.
However you participate, please tag PANO and use #NonprofitsGetItDone. We’ll amplify you! Here’s some sample social copy you can use to get started:
- This National Volunteer Month, we’re grateful for the [NUMBER] volunteers who [WHAT THEY DO] at [ORG NAME]. You make our mission possible. #NonprofitsGetItDone
- Volunteers are the backbone of [ORG NAME]. This week, we’re saying thank you. #NonprofitsGetItDone #VolunteerRecognitionWeek
- Behind every number in our annual report is a volunteer who showed up. This Volunteer Recognition Week, we see you. #NonprofitsGetItDone
