Paid Summer Opportunity for Science Teacher: Research Fellow – Mar 31

Teachers will join an NSF-funded project focused on the genomics of urban evolution in house mice. STEM teachers will work closely with the Phifer-Rixey Lab and participate in field and/or laboratory research during a 7-week summer program (June through August 2026). In addition to gaining experience in an active research lab, teacher participants will contribute to developing teaching materials related to the research for use in K-12 classrooms. This position is based at Drexel University with opportunities for fieldwork in and around the city.
Participants will be provided with a $6,000 stipend. In addition, participants will be able to order up to $1,000 in supplies to continue research in the classroom and up to $1000 in conference travel reimbursement for related professional development.
