Interested in being an elected official in Montgomery County? Come learn from people who know how. We are hosting a informational civics workshop about the process of becoming an elected official…the timelines, deadlines, petition process available seats etc. in addition to the ins and outs, dos and don’ts and potential conflicts of running for an elected position. We will have materials and voter registration forms.
Topics Include:
- Review timelines and petition periods (voter registration, primary and general election dates)
- Review election materials
- What’s a PAC?
- Open seats and term limits
Featuring special guests:
- Arlene Gordon, Campaign Strategist
- Andrea Baptiste, Chair of the MC Democratic Women’s Leadership Initiative
- Keya Johnson, Campaign Field Coordinator
- Mila Hayes, Former President of the Municipality of Norristown Council
