Volunteers Needed: K-3 Tutoring Program, Spring 2024

Posted by University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education on January 23, 2024

Become a tutor at the Andrew Hamilton School, through a new K-3 tutoring program from the Penn Graduate School of Education Tutoring Initiative, in collaboration with the Netter Center’s Penn Reading Initiative.

This program provides reading and writing tutoring for students struggling with their foundational skills. Tutoring takes place during the school day, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 9:45-10:30. Tutors meet with the same student twice a week, so must be available at least two of those days. (e.g., T/Th, T/W).

Tutors do not need previous experience; we will provide all training, as well as ongoing tutor support. This is a wonderful way to get connected to the West Philly community and make a big impact on a child.

If interested, sign up here, or reach out to Julie Berger, Associate Direction of Penn GSE’s Office of School & Community Engagement, at juliebe@upenn.edu.
