Seeking Volunteers for Finance Your Future, PhillyGoes2College – Apr 11

Senator Vincent Hughes and The Philadelphia Education Fund’s PhillyGoes2College program are partnering on Finance Your Future: an event scheduled for Tuesday, April 11^th from 4-7pm. High school students and their families will be invited for free tax filing services, FAFSA completion coaching, and a resource and opportunities fair. We are seeking volunteers from the college access community to support the event and the families it will serve through FAFSA coaching. We are looking for volunteers able to walk families through the FAFSA completion process. On their arrival, attendants in need of FAFSA support will be given an appointment time during the event to receive one-to-one assistance.

Interested in volunteering but not a FAFSA pro? No problem! We are also seeking volunteers to deliver mini-workshops on the college-going process and organizations/programs to table at the event’s resource and opportunities fair (directed towards high school students). Any support you can lend to the event would be enormously appreciated. In the spirit of PhillyGoes2College and CoP, we are excited for this opportunity to bring Philadelphia’s postsecondary-readiness community together for the families and students we work for. I’m routinely amazed at the incredible resources I get to share through PhillyGoes2College and am thrilled at the idea of using this event to bring those resources together in one place.
