Fund for Frontline Power invites applications for grassroots-led climate solutions

The Fund for Frontline Power (F4FP) is a 100 percent grassroots-governed fund supporting grassroots-led climate solutions.

To that end, the F4FP invites applications for a new funding opportunity. The fund’s vision is to move resources to frontline communities that are implementing climate solutions that are inclusive, regenerative, replicable, and scalable. It is designed to provide grants to frontline organizations working to address climate issues in the communities that need it the most. The F4FP grant awards will be given as unrestricted, general operating support grants through F4FP partner The Solutions Project.

Organizations with budgets of $0 to $500,000 per year are eligible to apply for grants of up to 50 percent of their current annual budget (up to $250,000); organizations with budgets of $501,000 to $999,000 per year are eligible to apply for grants of up to 25 percent of the current annual budget (grant awards between $125,000 and $250,000); organizations with budgets of $1 million to $1.5 million per year can apply for grants of up to $100,000. For organizations using a fiscal sponsor to apply, the budget guidelines apply to the applicant organization, not the fiscal sponsor.

To be eligible, applicants must have majority Black, Indigenous, or people of color leadership among staff and board; be grassroots-based and serving Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) communities as priority; be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit or can be fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)(3) nonprofit; demonstrate community work and partnerships through their history of work; and have an annual budget of no more than $1.5 million.
