Women’s Sports Foundation invites applications for multigenerational movement-based programming

The Women’s Sports Foundation was established in 1974 to advance the lives of women and girls through sports and physical activity and has a mission to enable all girls and women to reach their potential in sports and life.

Together with Athleta, the foundation invites applications for its Move Together grant program, which will support organizations that foster multigenerational connections in their communities through sport, fitness, and movement-based programming for girls and women.

Grants will be awarded in support of efforts that offer existing programming elements or have the ability to develop new programming or enhancements that promote multigenerational connections between girls and women; deliver and provide access to sport, fitness, or movement-based programming as a primary focus, serving predominately girls and/or women; display innovation in its efforts to engage girls and women, creating an environment that inspires; take a holistic approach to programming that considers physical, mental, social, and/or emotional needs of the girls and women who participate; and have the ability to sustain long-term programming after the life of the funding has expired.

Grants ranging from $5,000 and $10,000 will be awarded for a total of $250,000. Funds may be used for staff, facility rental, equipment, uniforms, and supplies directly benefiting the grant-supported program.

Eligible applicants include nonprofits located in the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, or U.S. territories.

For complete program guidelines, application instructions, and information about previous grant recipients, see the Women’s Sports Foundation website.
