The Data Analyst is primarily responsible for the design, analysis, and reporting of the quantitative sections of social science research in public affairs areas, including the evaluation of the Pascale Sykes Foundation’s Southern New Jersey Strengthening Families Initiative, Community Health Needs Assessments for Healthcare Providers, and other projects that involve the analysis and interpretation of quantitative data. The person in this position will be responsible for the design, implementation, and analysis for the quantitative methods portions of other public affairs related projects.
The individual in this position is responsible for employing a variety of statistical techniques including modelling, and inferential and differential statistics using appropriate statistical software (i.e. Tableau, Matlab, QGIS, SPSS, Stata, R). The Data Analyst should have the ability to work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team of researchers. The person in this position should have excellent critical thinking, analytic, interpersonal communication, and organizational skills.
The Data Analyst should have experience with human subjects research in social sciences, the management, use, and protection of large data sets, and reporting quantitative results in written media for user-friendly and academic audiences including research briefs, white papers, media, and reports for public use. The Data Analyst is also responsible for establishing considerations for quantitative data processes across projects at the institute including during project scoping, implementation, and reporting in coordination with the Associate Director.
