Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation invites applications for 2022 Project Innovation projects

Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation is welcoming applications for its 2022 Project Innovation program.

In 2022, Project Innovation will award nearly $3.5 million to nonprofit organizations in NBC- and Telemundo-owned television station markets that are tackling everyday problems through innovative solutions. The markets include the San Francisco Bay Area, Boston, Chicago, Hartford, Dallas Fort-Worth, New York City, Philadelphia, San Diego, South Florida, Southern California, and Washington, D.C. A full list of eligible ZIP codes can be viewed here. The project innovation grant categories include:

Culture of Inclusion: Programs that encourage equitable access, opportunities, and resources for traditionally underrepresented communities.

Youth Education and Empowerment: In-school and out-of-school programs that equip youth with the tools they need to succeed, including STEM/ STEAM education and youth entrepreneurship.

Community Engagement: Programs that enable individuals to engage and volunteer in their communities.

Next Generation Storytellers: Programs that promote access and develop pathways for emerging talent, diverse voices, and underrepresented youth to explore careers in the arts, news, sports, and entertainment.

To be eligible, applicants must be a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with total expenses more than $100,000 (defined by the organization’s most recent 990). Applicants must have been existence and operation for at least one year. Fiscally sponsored organizations are eligible.

Applications will close March 25, 2022 7:59:59 p.m. ET.
