The mission of the Project HOME community is to empower adults, children, and families to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty, to alleviate the underlying causes of poverty, and to enable all of us to attain our fullest potential as individuals and as members of the broader society. We strive to create a safe and respectful environment where we support each other in our struggles for self-esteem, recovery, and the confidence to move toward self-actualization.
The SMART Lab Facilitator manages, mentors and guides student learning and success in a hands-on and interactive, STEAM-based learning environment. The Facilitator is responsible for planning and implementing daily STEAM-based lesson plans for K-12 students designed to enrich and improve student technology literacy. Training on Smart lab resources and curriculum will be provided.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and nurture a welcoming, supportive and cooperative relationship with students, parents and staff
- Plan and implement daily lesson plans designed to provide after school enrichment and increase technology literacy and STEAM skills
- Submit weekly lesson plans to Director of Technology and Instructional Supports
- Plan and implement appropriate grade level technology assessments semi-annually in order to track technology literacy/skill progress and mastery
- Plan and implement at least 6 Structured Activity Units each school year for K-12 grade students
- Prepare middle school robotics team students to compete in regional competitions
- Assist with planning and supervising students on field trips
- Participate in required Professional Development programs, staff meetings and parent meetings
