Dreams and Nightmares: The U.S. Immigration Crisis – Mar 30

On Tuesday, March 30th, 2021 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. EST, Juan Gonzalez and Liliana Velásquez will delve into the roots of the immigration crisis in the United States, as well as share powerful reflections and a narrative of Liliana’s journey. In a discussion moderated by refugee law and policy expert Fernando Chang-Muy, MA, JD, Gonzalez—an award-winning journalist—and Velásquez—author of Dreams and Nightmares / Sueños y Pesadillas—open up about the harrowing immigration crisis, the driving factors and underlying conditions for migrant families, and explore how we can address complex immigration questions and policy reform.
Guest speakers will also include Penn School of Social Policy & Practice (SP2) Dean Sara S. Bachman, PhD, and SP2 Associate Dean for Inclusion Jerri Bourjolly, MSW, PhD.
