Special Journal Issue: Economic Justice, Labor and Community Practice

Economic Justice, Labor and Community Practice, is the theme of a recent Special Issue of the Journal of Community Practice – Vol. 17, Nos. 1-2, edited by Louise Simmons and Scott Harding, both of the University of Connecticut School of Social Work. This will also be published as a book in November, 2009 by Routledge.
The volume features contributions from those involved in research, teaching and practice in several disciplines: community organization, labor studies, political science, urban studies, social policy who analyze the current economic upheaval and growing inequality. Articles discuss how people in local communities are fighting back, the coalitions and organizations they are building and the movements for progressive change both in the U.S. and Canada. The Journal is available through Taylor and Francis and is sponsored by the Association of Community Organization and Social Administration (ACOSA).
