About Us: Steppingstone Scholars is dedicated to helping educationally underserved students in the Greater Philadelphia region achieve academic success. Steppingstone’s Academy and Upward Bound programs integrate college and workforce prep from 5th grade to graduation from college and strengthen advising and tutoring across the organization, increase students’ academic and social emotional skills and support programs to set students on better college and workforce trajectories. The Senior Director of Advising and Tutoring supports Steppingstone’s Anchor Goals and will oversee support for students in high school, college, and career preparedness.

General Description: This position oversees the programmatic goals of the Director of the Academy and the Director of Upward Bound. This position is a Steppingstone employee whose primary focus is to connect and utilize Steppingstone’s extensive Out of School (OST) and in school programming, college pathway expertise, partnerships with employers and postsecondary education institutions to provide pathways to college and career for students in these cohorts. The position will be responsible for aligning both staff and students cohorts to Steppingstone’s larger organizational goals of increasing attendance of students at selective resourced colleges, increasing college completion rates, and engagement in internship and job placement programming. The position will also devise tutoring and advising infrastructure.  The position will coordinate with directors and programs across the organization to develop high quality advising and tutoring services and infrastructure (personnel, trainings, assessments, and protocols) that support Steppingstone strategic needs develop infrastructure for the organization The position will work with the directors to oversee their growth in efficacy while supporting all of the increasing support for students as they matriculate through college with access to academic enrichment and college and workforce attainment.
