ISCV Completes Comprehensive Update of Phillyneighborhoods.org Web Site

The PhillyNeighborhoods.org web site has undergone a comprehensive update/upgrade.

Here are the changes:

* Reorganization of home page to provide faster access to information related to clean and safe neighborhoods, schools and adult education, housing and economic assistance, neighborhood youth support, community organizing and community development.

* Fast track access to News, the City of Philadelphia, Neighborhoods, Schools, Elected Officials, and Data from every page in the web site.

* Inclusion of links to Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, and Linked In on the home page. You can access them from PhillyNeighborhoods .org now.

* Comprehensive update of web pages focused on “Neighborhoods” by City Planning District. All of them include updated data and information on community organizations, neighborhood development; schools and adult education; after school programs, recreation, and libraries; health and human services; neighborhood census data. The neighborhood pages now make possible fast access to all elected officials representing the neighborhood.

* Integration of YouTube Videos throughout the web site, focused on neighborhoods throughout the city. Videos will now become an important resource of   PhillyNeighborhoods.org. Want to watch the reports on City Services and Departments presented at the “PhilStat” sessions? They’re now easily accessed from PhillyNeighborhoods.org

* Expanded information on the “Green Economy” included on the “Clean and Green” page.

* Inclusion of links to the labor movement in Philadelphia on the “Jobs page”:, including the AFL-CIO, City unions, the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers, Hospital Workers 1199c, SEIU, Building Trades, United Food and Commercial Workers, IBEW, and other unions in the city.

* Updated web page devoted to the city, state, and federal budgets.

PhillyNeighborhoods.org provides the most comprehensive access to information related to neighborhood empowerment and revitalization of any web site in Philadelphia and now includes extensive information on community organizations, schools,  and development programs for neighborhoods throughout the city.

We will be drawing on this information to engage our “PhillyBlocks” list in discussion of the critical challenges facing neighborhoods in the coming year.

We will also be working to build “PhillyBlocks” email networks throughout the city in the coming year, reinforced by the information that we now provide for every neighborhood on PhillyNeighborhoods.org
