Inquirer LIVE: Difficult Conversations with Kids About Race – Aug 20

Posted by Philadelphia Inquirer on August 18, 2020

Every day, against 2020’s backdrop of racial inequity, brutality and fear, the conversations we are having with our children and with each other are increasingly difficult to navigate.

Join us on August 20, 2020, 4:15 PM,  for Inquirer LIVE: Difficult Conversations with Kids About Race, moderated by Inquirer Deputy News Editor Yvette Ousley.

This event is inspired by Sozi Pedro Tulante’s op-ed in The Inquirer about “The Talk,” and recent op-ed pieces by The Opt-In podcast co-hosts, Aurora Archer and Kelly Croce Sorg. This diverse panel of Inquirer contributors and esteemed trauma specialist Dr. Clara Whaley Perkins will share with us how they navigate these conversations with their children so we can all gain insight into handling these discussions with our own families.
