KIDS ASKING EXPERTS THE QUESTIONS AT HEALTHY NEWSWORKS VIRTUAL BOOK REVEAL

PHILADELPHIA, May 12, 2020—Tune in to hear kid reporters ages 8 to 14 posing questions about the coronavirus and its impact on society to MSNBC Host Ali Velshi, music legend Kenny Gamble, MacArthur genius fellow Angela Duckworth and others during Healthy NewsWorks’ Virtual Book Reveal on May 20, 2020.
Learning and working from lockdown during the coronavirus crisis, Healthy NewsWorks reporters interviewed experts on health policy, mental health, journalism, science, and the arts to make sense of the pandemic and what the future might hold. Kids will be asking the questions and former ABC News Correspondent Jackie Judd will serve as emcee for the event. Others to be interviewed include:
• University of Pennsylvania Bioethicist Dr. Ezekiel J. Emanuel
• Former Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius
• Astronaut Douglas H. Wheelock
• Former FDA Commissioner Dr. David Kessler
Also during the event, Healthy NewsWorks will unveil its ninth book, Leading Healthy Change In Our Communities 2020, featuring interviews with Philadelphia-area leaders, including Philadelphia Health Commissioner Dr. Tom Farley.

ABOUT HEALTHY NEWSWORKS
Healthy NewsWorks is a health journalism program for kids in grades K-8. Established in 2003, the program empowers the students to become researchers, writers, critical thinkers, and confident communicators who advance health understanding and literacy through their factual publications and digital media.
