Education First Compact: Growing Green Futures: Educating for Sustainability, Feb 13
Posted by Philadelphia Education Fund on January 28, 2020
The School District of Philadelphia launched its long-range sustainability plan, GreenFutures, in 2016. It pledged to meet 5 broad targets and 65 specific action items by 2020. It’s now 2020. What’s the progress? What remains to be addressed? Are the measures equitable?
Presenters from the School District, as well as several of its energy education partners, will focus on topics ranging from curriculum, to school infrastructure, to youth training and employment.
How might we all contribute to healthier, more efficient schools, and prepare today’s students for the next generation of green, sustainable career pathways and good citizenship? Join us to find out!

- Chesa Ramacciotti, PHENND Fellow VISTA, Office of Sustainability, School District of Philadelphia
- Nick Sracic, Public Sector Energy Executive, Johnson Controls, Inc.
