William Penn Foundation Invites Applications From Arts and Cultural Organization in Greater Philadelphia
The William Penn Foundation is inviting applications for its Core Support for Arts and Cultural Organizations program.
The program seeks to ensure that arts organizations in the greater Philadelphia area have the flexibility to try new ideas, offset their expenses, and support their operations. To that end, the program provides general operating funds to organizations that present high-quality artistic work with the aim of contributing to a rich, creative cultural landscape regionally.
Through the program, three-year grants will be awarded to arts and cultural organizations located in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties in southeastern Pennsylvania or Camden, New Jersey that have been in operation for more than five consecutive years. Funding may be used for any purpose that advances the mission of the organization, as determined by the grantee organization.
Grant amounts are determined by organizational budget size, with grants of up to $275,000 per year awarded to organizations with annual budgets of $17.5 million and above. Additional funding of 25 percent may be added to the annual grant amount when an organization has three or more months of liquid unrestricted net assets at the end of its last fiscal year and unrestricted net operating surpluses that total no less than 5 percent of expenses for the last two fiscal years.
To be eligible, applicants must be able to provide an audit or, at minimum, an accountant’s review for the five most recent fiscal years and be located in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties in southeastern Pennsylvania or Camden, New Jersey.
Pre-proposals are due October 4. Upon review, selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal by March 2, 2020.
See the William Penn Foundation for complete program guidelines, application instructions, a chart outlining budget ranges and corresponding annual grant awards, a financial eligibility self-test tool, and an FAQ.
Deadline: October 4, 2019 (Pre-proposals)
