Teacher PD: Food Webs, Energy Flow, Carbon Cycle and Trophic Pyramids – Mar 9

You are invited to a free PD session for high school biology teachers and middle school science teachers on Saturday, March 9 (snow date, March 16), 9-12 a.m. Our PD will include:

· Food Webs, Energy Flow, Carbon Cycle and Trophic Pyramids (a hands-on activity for teaching Keystone BIO.B.4.2.1 and BIO.B.4.2.3)

For Philadelphia, Upper Darby or Chester teachers who register by Sunday, February 24 and participate in this PD, we will provide the card decks for the food web part of the activity. Registration will remain open until Wednesday, March 6. If you are a teacher from Philadelphia, Upper Darby or Chester and you register after February 24, we may be able to provide supplies, but we can’t guarantee that.

We will also provide Act 48 credits to participating teachers. Donated books, glassware, and a few microscopes will be available for you to take for use in your classrooms.

This PD session will be held in Room 115, Leidy Lab (3740 Hamilton Walk) in the Biology Department of the University of Pennsylvania.
