Philadelphia Health + Housing Summit

PACDC is excited to announce that registration for Philadelphia’s first Health + Housing Summit is now open!

Housing is a critical social determinant of health and a lack of safe, affordable housing creates significant downstream health care costs. That’s why institutions around the country – from Managed Care Organizations to large health systems – have begun to address a range of housing needs in the communities they serve. Their approach and how they received institutional and community buy-in holds important lessons for our own health professionals, housing practitioners, and policy makers as we seek to improve health outcomes while using limited resources more effectively.

On Thursday, December 13th at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, we will bring together practitioners from around the country who have implemented successful models to address housing needs to share their findings and provide their insight into how we can replicate these approaches here in Philadelphia and the broader region. With keynote lectures by Dr. Kelly Kelleher of Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Sister Mary Scullion of Project HOME followed by a full afternoon of workshops, this full-day Summit is certain to elevate this conversation and infuse new ideas into how housing providers, local government, hospitals, insurers, and MCOs can work together to improve health outcomes by improving housing.
