Free nonprofit branding consulting

From Nick Cassway, Drexel professor:
I am looking for other organizations to work with during my summer and fall terms. If you know of any organization that might benefit from this class project please feel free to forward this email and direct them to contact me.
A little bit about my class and the requirements from partners: I started this program because I saw a need in the non-profit sector for better and more consistent brand graphics used by organizations. I teach in the Design and Merchandising program at Drexel and my principal responsibility within my program is to teach computer graphic skills, design thinking and the creative process. I found that working with non-profit organizations was not only a perfect match for addressing my students needs but addressed the needs of non-profits as well as fulfilled part of Drexel’s overall commitment towards civic engagement; what I refer to as a win-win-win.
In my class all of my students work individually with one client throughout our 10-week term, typically developing new logos, colorways, type treatments, online and print graphics and brochures. The expectation is that by the end of the term each student pitches their graphic identity concept to the client. I like to involve my clients throughout the process by having them introduce the organization, be interviewed by the students and be involved in critiques – clients have found this to be a rewarding and informative experience. The client can select one of the concepts to implement as their branding – an independent study is usually set up between the student, myself and the client to fulfill all deliverables. I semi-humorously say that my goal is to make the clients decision making difficult as I push my students towards providing excellent, thoughtful, polished and professional concepts. There is no fee to be involved, this is offered entirely free of charge.
I work with organizations across the non-profit sector. My ideal client is one that is willing to engage in a dialog about all aspects of their graphic identity and not just looking for discrete objectives such as flyer or postcard designs. Organizations that are recently established that have a clearly defined mission, vision and goals as well as older organizations that perhaps have gone through a strategic planning and are looking to update their identity are all welcome. Smaller non-profits are typically a better fit for my class.
