Join us for the 22nd annual Arturo A. Schomburg Symposium, dedicated to Afro-Latino history and culture. This year’s theme, “Does Violence Have Color?”, considers the multiple aspects and facets of violence as the perpetration of these acts relates to race, power, and socio-economic structures.
Featuring speakers Ximena Abello (University of Massachusetts–Amherst), Kenneth Dossar (Temple University, Philadelphia), Pablo Luis Rivera (Interamerican University–Fajardo, Puerto Rico), and Elizabeth L. Sweet (Temple University, Philadelphia), as well as a panel entitled “Institutional Racism, Violence, and Justice.”
