    EDUCATORS BACK ON CAMPUS: Being Informed Educators about Dating and Domestic Violence

     

    Monday, February 12, 2018
    Grace Hall Atrium
    5-9pm

    Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be provided.

     

    Using real-life examples and outcomes, gain insights about the effects of domestic violence on children and their learning experiences. Hear presenters describe how they have used the tragic losses of family members to gain insights that save others from harm.

    GUEST SPEAKERS:

    Bill Mitchell: President of the Kristin Mitchell Foundation. Bill and Michele Mitchell lost their daughter, Kristin, when she was brutally murdered by her ex-boyfriend days after her graduation from nearby Saint Joseph’s University. They are passionate champions for dating violence education.

    Akea Pearson: Founder and operator of Akea’s Heart Inc. and author of Mommy Wake Up, a children’s book about an eight-year old girl who witnessed her mother being abused by her stepfather.

    Wayne Stricker: A survivor of domestic violence experienced as a child. Stricker has a passion to help others that are going through the same struggle.
