Human Rights Pedagogy and Practice in the classroom, November 2, 4:30 – 6:30 (Stokes Auditorium, Haverford College, tea at 4:15, parking at Haverford is free – follow directions to the visitor lot), with four faculty members representing diverse institutions and disciplines. As further described here, faculty members who engage rights and advocacy work in their classrooms (in theology, English, political science, and anthropology) will discuss approaches to their work within the curriculum, including how they approach questions such as balancing course needs with social movement processes, how they navigate political questions and challenges, and lessons and aspirations at the intersection of critical inquiry and consequential action.
