K-8 Education Program Coordinator, Puentes Hacia el Futuro

We seek a highly motivated person in the fields of education, psychology, human or community development, public health, or closely related area to lead our education program, Puentes Hacia el Futuro. This coordinator position provides an unparalleled opportunity to work and to learn at the intersections of research, action, and social justice and at the forefront of urban education. The Coordinator will engage in issues of education and equality in a community-based, multilingual, and transnational context.

Education at Puentes de Salud
Puentes Hacia el Futuro (Bridges Towards the Future) is the education branch of Puentes de Salud, which serves the rapidly growing Latino immigrant community of South Philadelphia and enhances community wellness through an integrated approach to health, education, and empowerment. Puentes Hacia el Futuro is predicated on the well-evidenced fact that education is inextricably tied to the health and prosperity of individuals and of communities. Our mission is to support the holistic positive development of youth in our community to improve long-term health and prosperity outcomes.

Requirements
This position is available to a third-year undergraduate student or higher, in addition to graduate students and others seeking part-time work. Candidates must be able to work independently and have excellent interpersonal skills for leading and managing teams. Must be proficient with all Google drive suites and applications. Spanish fluency required, native speaker preferred.

Hours: 20-30 hours per week
Location: Southwark School, 1835 S. 9th street, Philadelphia PA 19148
Position type: Part time
Position schedule: Coordinator must be available 2-6pm, Monday-Thursday during the academic year and 8:45am-4pm, Monday-Friday during the summer. Flexible schedule during times when program and public schools are not in session.
Position length: Contingent on funding
