Development Director, ACHIEVEability

Posted by ACHIEVEability on March 27, 2017

ACHIEVEability is seeking a dynamic Development Director who will help us to realize our mission of breaking the generational cycle of poverty for vulnerable families. Reporting to, and in partnership with, the Executive Director (ED), the Development Director will spearhead our fundraising efforts and build out the development department. The Development Director will be the primary hub of all that relates to corporate, foundation, and individual donors. A successful candidate will feel a strong sense of commitment to ACHIEVEability’s mission and will energetically pursue forging new, sustainable relationships to build ACHIEVEability’s visibility, impact, and financial resources. The Development Director will also design and implement a critical, comprehensive plan for developing key external alliances by cultivating individual and philanthropic support. As a key member of the leadership team, the Development Director will participate in making strategic decisions effecting ACHIEVEability.

ACHIEVEability is entering an exciting time as we embark on a journey to uniquely position ourselves as a key provider of transformational social services to end poverty in West Philadelphia. In order to do so, we plan to substantially increase our revenue from the private sector (currently 26% of our 1.75 million budget) and individual donors (currently 21% of revenue). We have an incredible Board of Directors, group of supporters, and a growing team that will be primed to meet the challenge of significant organizational growth. We’re also embarking on a rebranding effort and you’ll play a key role in defining who we are, as well as bringing that identity to life. As our Development Director, you’ll be responsible for the present – managing Raisers Edge, cultivation and stewardship plans, and grant proposal timelines – and the future – such as donor prospecting, creation of new development strategies, and hiring and managing a full-time Marketing and Communications Associate.

Team Overview
