Recognized nationally for its work, the Office of Civic Engagement connects Rutgers University–Camden to communities beyond the campus. Working with community partners, the office supports efforts to meet the challenges facing our host city, county, and region through engaged civic learning, volunteerism and service, community-based research, and integrated efforts and partnerships. The Office’s K-12 work is a hallmark of its service. Through it, Rutgers’ students provide nearly a half million hours of service, and the University delivers high quality, out-of-school time programming and college preparatory support to K-12 students in the city of Camden.

The incumbent will provide leadership and oversight to this key initiative of the Rutgers University–Camden Office of Civic Engagement. S/he will supervise the staffs responsible for the Rutgers Future Scholars Program, the Hill Family Center for College Access, the Rutgers North Camden School Partnership, the Camden City College Access Network, and the First Start Academy at Rutgers. The incumbent will build, maintain, and strengthen partnerships between the University and K-12 schools. S/he will manage existing and seek additional funding for K-12 initiatives and will advance the University’s civic engagement work through participation in professional networks and at conferences locally, regionally, and nationally. This position reports to the Associate Chancellor for Civic Engagement.
