Funding Your Future: Scholarship Info Session
Open to High School Students and their Families
Thursday 6-7pm

The Philadelphia Foundation awards over $1 million in college scholarships to students all over The Philadelphia region. At this free information session, you’ll learn about eligibility requirements and guidelines for the scholarships available through The Philadelphia Foundation. You will also receive tips and insights to what The Philadelphia Foundation’s scholarship committees are looking for in your application package.

Mighty Super Heroes and Villains
For Philadelphia Students Ages 7-9

We heard you! Super heroes! Supervillains! And, comic strips! Join us as we combine the three to create our own graphic works of art! Instructor: Shamira O’Neal

The Investigation
For Philadelphia students ages 11 to 15
Thursday, 6:00pm-7:30pm
February 16 (one session only)
“The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time” takes us on a journey through 15-year-old Christopher’s mind as he solves a murder mystery. We learn from Christopher, who has Asperger’s Syndrome, that there are many ways to interpret the world. In this one-time workshop, we’ll take part in the investigation by viewing information from Christopher’s point of view. Join us as we read a few chapters & talk observation skills, logic, and life! Maybe we’ll even solve the murder mystery! All participants receive a copy of the novel.

Because of Them We Can
For Philadelphia Students 10-17
Mondays, 6:00-7:30
February 6th, 20th & 27th
Photographer Eunique Jones started “Because of Them, We Can” in 2013 to celebrate Black History Month. She launched a photo campaign starring cute kids as Black Icons like Maya Angelou, George Washington Carver, Shirley Chisholm, Spike Lee, Venus & Serena Williams and more. We’ll take a look at her campaign and create campaigns of our own paying homage to African American heroes and heroines through literature and video. Instructor: Shamira O’Neal

BlogAcademy
