International Literacy Association Invites Applications for Teacher Recognition Grant
Since 1956, the International Literacy Association has been committed to improving literacy around the world. With a network of more than 300,000 literacy educators, researchers, and experts across 75 countries, the association supports literacy professionals through a wide range of resources, advocacy efforts, volunteerism, and professional development activities.
To that end, ILA is accepting applications for the 2017 Regie Routman Teacher Recognition Grant.
A grant of $2,500 will be awarded to an outstanding mainstream elementary school teacher dedicated to improving the teaching and learning of reading and writing across the Kâ6 (ages 5â12) curriculum and in real-world contexts.
To be eligible, teachers must be a member of ILA and teach in a school where at least 60 percent of students are eligible for free or reduced-cost lunch.
See the ILA website for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
