Hear our high school intern, Andre’s story
Last year, Andre was able to attend the Rooted in Community Conference in Detroit, MI with funds raised at Eats and Beats.
Andre says, “this night is important for anyone who wants to invest in the future. Specifically the future of AUNI youth interns because it lets us see the world as something bigger than ourselves … [at RIC] Youth from around the country working with community and social justice organizations get together to fight for change and learn from each other about their own cultures and backgrounds. I was able to go [to Detroit] because of the great people that supported the youth at Eats and Beats.”
The Agatston Urban Nutrition Initiative (AUNI) is a program of the Netter Center for Community Partnerships at the University of Pennsylvania that engages, educates and empowers youth, university students, and community members to promote healthy lifestyles and build a just and sustainable food system.
