Free Biology PD for middle school science teachers

You are invited to a free PD session for high school biology teachers and middle school science teachers on Saturday, April 9, 9-12 AM. High school teachers, middle school teachers, and student teachers from any nearby schools are all welcome to participate.
Our PD will include a multi-part activity:
· Food Webs, Energy Flow, Carbon Cycle and Trophic Pyramids (a multi-part hands-on, analysis and discussion activity for teaching Keystone BIO.B.4.2.1 and BIO.B.4.2.3)
In addition, Dr. Lori Spindler, Department of Biology, University of Pennsylvania will present Studying Ecology at Different Levels of Organization (Keystone BIO.B.4.1.1).

For Philadelphia or Upper Darby teachers who register by March 31 and participate in this PD, we will provide the supplies for the ecology activity. In addition, we will have some donated microscopes, spectrophotometers and books to give to participating teachers. We will also provide Act 48 credits for Pennsylvania teachers. If you want Act 48 credits, please be sure to bring your 7-digit PPID number to the PD session.
This PD session will be held in Room 101, Leidy Lab in the Biology Department of the University of Pennsylvania. For a map of the area, go to http://tiny.cc/BiologyPDMap. Three-hour metered parking is available on Spruce Street and two-hour metered parking is available on 38th St./University Avenue.
