Request for Proposals: West Philadelphia Fair Future Strategy Grants
Philadelphia LISC announces a Request for Proposals (RFP) for programs, projects, and initiatives that support a recently completed Fair Future Strategy in West Philadelphia neighborhoods. Projects funded under this proposal will promote the equitable development priorities defined in the Fair Future Strategy Community Report, which included the input of more than 365 residents from the focus neighborhoods of Belmont, Mantua, and West Powelton, and portions of Mill Creek and Saunders Park.

It is anticipated that these projects will also support the goals of the Promise Zone, a federal designation, made in January 2014 by President Obama. The Promise Zone was designed to increase opportunity, improve quality education access, decrease crime, and create jobs in locations of deep and persistent poverty.
Lead applicants must be 501(c) 3 non-profit corporations; must be located in and/or offer programs and services to residents in the focus neighborhoods (see map); must be able to demonstrate current participation in the West Philadelphia Fair Future Strategy; must evidence collaboration with at least two community partners.
The deadline to receive proposals is October 30, 2015. Electronic submissions only. Questions can be directed to James Crowder at jcrowder@lisc.org or (215) 923-1743 by October 16.
A total of $120,000 of grant funds are available. Each grant award will be approximately $20,000 per organization, and no less than $7,500. For more information, download the full Request for Proposals and Exhibits A and B.
