Background
Penn’s Village is part of a growing national movement of community based non-profit organizations, now more than 130 villages across the U.S. We are committed to helping residents of central Philadelphia neighborhoods lead vibrant, healthy lives while they remain in their own homes. Thanks to our active Volunteers and contributing Neighbors, “Villagers” have access to resources that allow them to continue to enjoy the activities of city life as they age.
Position Description
Coordinate marketing and communications functions under the guidance of the Communications Committee, including:
• Prepare press releases and circulate to media
• Organize marketing to high rises, religious communities, and civic associations including circulation of articles for newsletters, flyers about events, and general posters
• Plan and publicize educational and social events
• Manage social media program for Penn’s Village
• Maintain media, high rise, and congregation data bases
• Create a database of contact information for health care and social service agencies
• Update website and keywords
Qualifications
• Marketing or communications major at area college or university
• Excellent writing skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to advice organization on the use of social media
Approximately 5 hours per week. Can work in the office or at home. Ideal for a student requiring an internship to graduate.
