Urban Garden Internship Program, Norris Square Neighborhood Project
Posted by Norris Square Neighborhood Project on August 3, 2015
Norris Square Neighborhood Project is seeking energetic and dedicated urban farmers! We are accepting applications for unpaid internships for Fall 2015 (Sept-December). Norris Square Neighborhood Project has 6 beautiful gardens in the heart of Kensington created by Grupo Motivos. This is an invaluable opportunity to improve your Spanish while enjoying the beauty of our gardens and deepening your connection to our community.
Our gardens are different from other urban farms. Norris Square Neighborhood Project is committed to the cultivation and preservation of Puerto Rican and other Latino cultures. We are proud & honored to work in a bilingual Spanish/English community. More than food production, our gardens serve as beautiful oases in West Kensington that celebrate Latino heritage and are used as teaching laboratories for people of all ages. Our gardens engage both youth in our after school programs and elders & children in the Norris Square community.
