Guest speakers needed, A’s for J’s Program at area high schools

VILLA and Jordan Brand have partnered to create a program that rewards students for academic achievement and excellence. The “As for Js” academic incentive program sponsored by Villa and Brand Jordan provides three Philadelphia public high schools: Imhotep Charter, Kensington CAPA, and West Philadelphia opportunities to motivate students to achieve excellence offering students and schools the following :
● Monetary incentives directly to students for academic achievement
● Students receive $25 for each “A” earned in English, math, and/or science. (Dollars can be redeemed at any VILLAstore for the purchase of Jordan Brand product.)
● Participating students are invited to monthly career workshops and college visits
● Participating seniors are eligible to apply for a $2,500 college scholarship
● Schools compete for a $25,000 grand prize
“As for Js” is offering students at each of the 3 participating schools an opportunity to hear from “near peer” individuals who are in the workforce and/or pursuing their some postsecondary education. We’re looking for individuals as presenters/panelist who are between the ages of 18 to 30, currently working and/or have some post secondary education (preferably having some on the job experiences, internships or service). Entrepreneurs and startup individuals are encourage to be part of the day.
We need 8 presenters (per each session) for each of the following event times:
● March 24th, 10:15 AM-11:30 AM Imhotep Institute Charter HS (6201 N 21st St, Philadelphia, PA 19138)
● March 24th, 3:00-3:50 Imhotep Institute Charter HS
● March 26th, 9:00 AM-10:30 AM West Philadelphia HS (4901 Chestnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19139)
● March 27th, 1:00 PM-2:00 PM Kensington Creative And Performing Arts HS (1901 N. Front St., Philadelphia, PA 19122)
● March 27th, 2:00 PM-3:00 PM Kensington Creative And Performing Arts HS
