Summer Writing Instructors, Philadelphia Futures

Philadelphia Futures’ mission is to provide low-income, first-generation-to-college students with the tools, resources and opportunities necessary for admission to and success in college. A critical component of our programming is summer academic instruction. Programs are offered on college campuses and designed to build academic skills and increase students’ understanding of college life.
We currently have these Summer Writing Instructor positions available:
- The History Writing & Research Instructor will lead 20-25 rising sophomores in a course entitled “The Holocaust & Human Behavior,” using a curriculum outline developed by Philadelphia Futures. This is a half-day program at Drexel University from June 29th to July 31st (with Friday, July 3rd off for Independence Day).
- The Science Writing Instructor will lead 25-35 rising seniors by co-facilitating a hands-on environmental science internship program that focuses on fieldwork and lab experience. The instructor will support all writing elements of the program and help students to integrate the content of course lectures into their work. This is a full-day, five week program at Eastern University. Dates TBA.

Compensation for each position is competitive and dependent on credentials and experience.
