Discipline, Disabilities, School to Prison, Disproportionality
Posted by Public Interest Law Center of Philadelphia on November 24, 2014
Join us for a full-day conference on Saturday, December 13 on special education and discipline.
Two alarming trends are happening across the country right now. A disproportionate number of minority students are being over-identified as needing special education when in fact they do not. And, too often children are being funneled out of public schools and into the juvenile justice system through the school-to-prison pipeline.
Our presenters will help you understand the rights of children related to these trends and review behavioral assessments, positive behavioral support programs, and other legal tactics.
Pay-what-you-can and webinar tickets are available, as well as CLE and Act 48 credit.
