Advocating for Students and Parents in the Application Process

November is “American College Application Completion ” month. And while more and more students and families are encouraged to apply to college what is also necessary is an advocation for their rights and responsibilities in the college application and financial aid processes. The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) of which over 80% of colleges and universities are members subscribe to the ” Statement of Principles and Good Practices”, which are the code of ethics and practices of these processes. Misty Whelan, NACAC Admission Practices Committee Member and President-elect of PA Association for Admission Counseling will provide a presentation on NACAC’s Statement of Principles and Good Practices (SPGP). Learn your role in advocating for the students and families you serve.

As always, there will be opportunity for announcements and updates from the community at-large. If you provide material, please bring at least 50 copies.

The meeting will take place in the “Teletorium” located on the 1st floor of Mandeville Hall. Parking will be located in the Hawks’ Landing parking garage.
