Verizon Wireless’ Because Voices Have Power Program

Verizon Wireless has expanded its initiative to raise domestic violence awareness by launching the Because Voices Have Power campaign, which is an extension of their longtime HopeLine program for domestic violence victims.

The way Voices Have Power works is quite simple: Verizon is asking everyone to send a message of hope to domestic violence victims either through a text message, Facebook post or tweet, or directly through the campaign’s website. In return, Verizon promises to contribute $3 each time a message is sent, with those funds going directly to a domestic violence organization or group in the U.S. If you would like to do more, you can visit the HopeLine site, where you can learn about how to donate your no-longer-in-use cellphone to Verizon, who will either recycle it or provide it to a victim in need. It’s all part of Verizon’s campaign to put an end to domestic violence.
