Applications Available for MetLife Foundation Awards for Excellence in Affordable Housing
Deadline: April 30, 2004
In partnership with the MetLife Foundation, the Enterprise Foundation offers the MetLife Foundation Awards for Excellence in Affordable Housing. The program recognizes community-based or regional nonprofit organizations and Tribes or Tribally Designated Housing Entities that excel in property and asset management or provide housing to people with special needs.
Awards are presented in two categories: 1) Supportive Housing; and 2) Property and Asset Management. Submitted projects can be single- or scattered-site; rental, cooperatively owned or condominium units, transitional, or permanent housing; and must have a minimum of ten dwelling units. Awards will be made for individual projects only. Special consideration will be given to projects with unique characteristics.
First-place winners will receive $25,000; second-place winners receive $15,000; and third-place winners receive $10,000. The prize money may be used to cover any of the needs of the winning organizations.
Applicants must be 501(c)(3) community-based or regional nonprofit organizations or Tribes/Tribally Designated Housing Entities (TDHEs) and members of the Enterprise Foundation Network.
See the Enterprise Foundation Web site for complete program information and application.
