DIRECTOR ? Chief Operating Officer: The Women?s Opportunities Resource Center
The Women?s Opportunities Resource Center is a nationally recognized not-for-profit organization headquartered in Philadelphia that promotes social and economic self-sufficiency for economically disadvantaged women and their families. WORC provides training, individual business assistance, a savings program, support services, and access to business and financial resources. Since 1994 WORC has provided over 1,400 individuals with self-employment training, developed and launched the largest incentive savings program for low-income adults in the nation, and established a direct lending program for loans under $5,000 through its non-profit subsidiary, the Economic Opportunities Fund.
WORC is entering a new period of growth and seeks a hands-on Chief Operating Officer. The ideal candidate will be a committed, talented and experienced nonprofit professional who will oversee and manage the daily operations of the agency including administration, program and fiscal management. S/he will report to WORC?s President.
The individual will have outstanding management skills, be able to promote teamwork among a diverse staff and have experience in managing federal, state and private contracts. S/he must be able to maintain a clear perspective while juggling competing priories.
