Prevention Point Philadelphia (PPP) is a multi-service public health organization working to reduce harm associated with drug use by providing safe and humane alternatives to the war on drugs. Through education, outreach and advocacy, PPP addresses the health and social service needs of drug users and sex workers by providing culturally-sensitive, non-judgmental prevention and care services. PPP is growing, and our team needs caring, committed professionals for the following positions:
Social Worker: provide individual counseling, case management, health education, and skills building interventions with adults in community-based setting. BSW req, MSW pref. 1+ yrs exp in health care. Bilingual (Eng/Span) pref.
Nurse Practitioner (part-time): provide family planning and primary health care services for patients in a community-based clinic setting. Perform physical examinations; perform/order diagnostic tests; establish diagnoses for acute illness; administer medication as prescribed; instruct patients about medical conditions and treatment; provide health education. Current PA license and NP Board Cert req.
Education and Outreach Coordinator: oversee all aspects of community-based outreach and education activities and HIV counseling and testing. Responsible for coordination and development of prevention education activities and outreach programs and all related reporting. Manage personnel related to the project. Curriculum development and training of program staff, volunteers and community members on HIV/AIDS, sexual and reproductive health, substance use, and harm reduction. BA req, MSW/MA pref. Bilingual pref. 2-5 yrs exp.
Literacy in Windows and MS Office.
Office Manager: responsible for all functions related to daily office management including office procedure, staff scheduling, managing payroll and benefits, oversight of inventory, accounts payable, and database management. BA/BS pref. Proficiency in MS Office and ACCESS req.
HIV Counselor: provide HIV and STD prevention counseling, HIV testing and results counseling, harm reduction education and counseling, and health education. Work with clients and conduct outreach in community-based settings. BA/BS pref. Bilingual (Eng/Span) req. Literacy in MS Office. Exp in health care pref.
All candidates should possess knowledge of HIV prevention education and harm reduction strategies, including outreach-based service delivery and demonstrate a commitment to advocacy and social justice, particularly as related to HIV/AIDS, poverty, homelessness, and/or harm reduction.
