Funding for After School Programs in NJ

FUNDING AVAILABLE FOR AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMS!!!

New Jersey After 3, Inc. proudly announces that grant funding is now available to non-profit organizations that partner with schools to run high-quality afterschool programs.

Grants will likely range in size from $50,000 to $500,000.

NJ After 3 anticipates awarding approximately 15 ? 25 grants through this RFP. Proposals are due August 23, 2004 to begin programming in October, 2004.

It is anticipated that a second RFP for between 50 ? 75 grants will be made available in late August or early September for a January start date.

New Jersey After 3 is a private, non-profit corporation dedicated to expanding and improving afterschool opportunities for New Jersey?s kids. Our vision is that all New Jersey children will have the opportunity to participate in high-quality, comprehensive, structured, supervised and enriching afterschool activities.

New Jersey After 3 is formed as a public-private partnership to maximize the resources available to afterschool programs for New Jersey kids. Created by Governor James E. McGreevey, New Jersey After 3 will provide grants of approximately $15 million in its first year to New Jersey non-profit organizations to support new afterschool activities to over 20,000 children. As a public-private partnership, New Jersey After 3 will work with the private sector to secure corporate, foundation and other private funding to expand the resources available for children.
