Enterprise Foundation Invites Entries for Community Revitalization Awards
Deadline: April 5, 2004
The Enterprise Foundation (<a href="http://www.enterprisefoundation.org/">http://www.enterprisefoundation.org/</a>) has announced the 2004 Jim & Patty Rouse Award for excellence in community revitalization. The purpose of the program is to recognize and share the important work accomplished by community-based and regional nonprofit organizations, as well as Tribes/Tribally Designated Housing Entities (TDHEs), that develop affordable housing and are engaged in comprehensive community revitalization efforts.
The goals of the program are to broaden understanding of success in community development by disseminating best practices by nonprofit organizations and to provide unrestricted funds to deserving organizations. Applying organizations must be members of the Enterprise Foundation Network and provide housing to low-income individuals or families. In addition, they must have worked to restore the fabric of the community and create a sense of place, with particular emphasis on opportunities for residents.
The Jim & Patty Rouse Award will be awarded to a financially solid organization with a sound, innovative, and comprehensive neighborhood plan. The organization must have a proven high level of resident involvement and community services and good project design. Each year, one or two winning organizations will receive a grant award of $5,000 in unrestricted funds and other recognition.
See the Enterprise Foundation Web site for complete program information.
