TechFoundation Announces 2003 TechGrants Awards Program

TechFoundation ( http://www.techfoundation.org/ ), an international public charity headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, delivers technology, expertise, and capital to help nonprofit organizations harness the power of information technology.

The organization has announced the launch of its TechGrants program for 2003. The program will award a total of $700,000 worth of technology and capital to help nonprofit organizations implement technology projects. Half the grants will be distributed by June, when the second half of the program will open to new grant applications.

TechFoundation Grant Program proposals will only be accepted from 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that provide technology assistance to other nonprofits as a part of their mission.

The foundation is offering four grant opportunities to be awarded by June 2003:

E-learning: a year’s access to over 2,000 learning items in twenty-five different learning areas, including business, technology, and home/personal.

Intranets Creation and Maintenance: a complete suite of intranet tools that enhance collaboration, productivity, communication, and database creation through the use of the Internet.

Web site Creation and Maintenance: technology and assistance to help nonprofits create, update, and maintain their own Web sites.

Implementation Assistance: cash grants to cover training, staff planning, and other costs related to implementing one of the grant projects.
