CCPH Grants on Developing Regional Networks

Deadlines
August 15, 2002 – Letters of Intent must arrive to CCPH on or by August 15, 2002. Email confirmation will be sent to the main contact upon receipt.

September 15, 2002 – Finalists will be notified via email and invited to submit a full proposal.

November 15, 2002 – Full proposals must arrive to CCPH on or by November 15, 2002. Email confirmation will be sent to the main contact upon receipt.

December 15, 2002 – Selected grantees will be notified via email. (Those not elected will also be notified via email.)

January 1, 2003 – One year grant cycle begins.

Frequently Asked Questions regarding the Regional Networks RFP:

Q: How is a “region” defined?
A: A region must comprise a contiguous sub-state, state or multi-state geographic area in the United States.

Q: Is a Regional Network intended to support service-learning?
A: Regional Networks are not designed solely to support service-learning. We expect Regional Networks to support a full range of community-campus partnership strategies, including but not limited to service-learning. The CCPH Regional Networks are intended to support and invigorate local community-campus partnerships through such activities as convening meetings, facilitating information exchange, providing opportunities for professional development, and expanding membership. The Networks serve as the “eyes, ears, and voice” of community-campus partnerships at all levels, assuring that key national information is disseminated at the local level and local concerns are raised to the national level. Please see the full text of the RFP for a list of “Required Activities” and a list of activities the Regional Networks might pursue.

Q: Are CCPH members the only ones eligible to apply to become a Regional Network?
A: All applicants must include at least one CCPH member in the leadership structure of the proposed Regional Network to be eligible.

Q: Can a purely academic partnership apply to become a Regional Network?
A: A Regional Network must have a leadership structure comprised of CCPH members and include individuals from both academic and community settings.

Q: Can I get a list of CCPH members in my region?
A: As a member you can access the CCPH online membership directory at http://my.memberclicks.com/ccph. There you can conduct searches by state and other criteria. You will need your assigned username and password to login. If you do not have this information, please email me at csi@itsa.ucsf.edu and I would be happy to send it to you.

Q: Can I find out if others are planning to apply from my region?
A: Where possible we are trying to connect those from the same general region so that they might have a chance to collaborate. Please contact me if you would like to find out if anyone of from your region has expressed interest in applying to become a Regional Network.
