New Website and Training: Nutrition Environment Measures
Posted by on August 18, 2006
Many of you have expressed interest in our Nutrition Environment Measures (NEMS) while others have been referred to us by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF). Last year, we developed a set of observational measures for food stores and restaurants, and tested them to establish their reliability and validity. RWJF has generously provided us with new funding to train individuals and groups to use these measures in their own communities.
We are happy to announce the official launch of the NEMS Training website! Please go to http://www.sph.emory.edu/NEMS to learn more details about the trainings or to register for a training.
We will be offering both Basic Trainings and Train the Trainers on the nutrition environment measures. We will also provide advice and tools for customizing the measures, and analyzing and presenting the results. Our next training will be a Train the Trainer from Sept. 28-30. Trainings will be offered through November 2006. There is no registration fee for the training, but participants are expected to cover their own travel expenses.
Please help us spread the word about this great training opportunity by forwarding this email to other researchers, community advocates and leaders who may be interested in attending a NEMS training.
Thanks for your interest and we hope to see you soon at a NEMS training.
