CONFERENCE ON CHILDREN’S HEALTH AND THE ENVIRONMENT
Saturday, September 11, 2004
7:30am to 5:15pm
Washington, D.C.
The main purpose of the conference is to educate health care providers and the public on children’s environmental health, to provide clinical consultation and evaluation of children with environmentally related health problems and to serve as a resource on environmental issues affecting children. The conference will address clinically important issues in children’s health as they are affected by the environment. Children of all ages, including those in the fetal stages of development, can be affected by environmental hazards such as lead, air pollution in schools and homes, pesticides and asbestos. Exposure to these substances via air, water, food or soil can have a significant impact on the health of children. This course is designed for various health professionals including pediatricians, family medicine physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, school nurses, public health rofessionals and other allied health professionals.
